Ms. Linda Mitchell serves as the Assistant Director of the Lutheran Schools Association of Metropolitan New York. She holds a Masters Degree in Education from Adelphi University in Garden City, NY, (1975) and a Professional Diploma in Administration from Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY (2003). After teaching for three years in a private nursery school she founded Holy Trinity Community School in 1976. Holy Trinity began as a preschool and each year a grade was added until 1984 when the first eighth grade class graduated. During her tenure at Holy Trinity she introduced many programs to the school including a special needs program, NYS Universal Preschool program for four year olds, Reading First for grades K-3 and block scheduling to the Middle and Junior High grades. She was awarded the Principal of the Year by the Lutheran School Association in 1997 and completed the Dimensions in Leadership training offered by Wellspring, a church development organization. She left Holy Trinity in August of 2004. Ms. Mitchell is a member of Kappa Delta Pi an International Educational Honor Society and ELEA Accreditation Team. Currently an adjunct instructor at Concordia College, she has also taught at Manhattan College.
